Description

Product Name: Pottery teapot | Green opal with beige speckled clay retailer | Handmade ceramic teapot

The important stuff:
-34 oz
-Hand-wash recommended
-Bare clay on the rim and inner lid (to avoid lid sticking to the body in the kiln)
-Opal green glaze interior
-Opal green glaze exterior, exposed beige clay bottom

The process:
Making pottery is a lengthy process. I knead the clay by hand to remove any air bubbles and then shape the clay on the wheel. The piece dries for a day and then I trim away excess retailer clay, add the handles, spouts, and decorations and then let it dry for several days. It is fired for 8 hours in the kiln, then cooled for 24 hours. I dip it in glaze and wipe the bottom clean so that it doesn't stick to the kiln during the second firing. It is then fired for another 12 hours. I measure the size, inspect for imperfections, sand the bottom and then it is finally ready for its forever home. All of these steps are performed with love and care!
