Product Name: 1968 Howitzer Artillery Shell Base w/Fancy Welded Top - retailer Candle Holder - Heavy! - 6 1/4" x 4 5/8"

I'm walking along in a resale shop...and come across this piece at the back of a shelf.

It looked quite unique, so I reached in and pulled it forward.

Lo and behold, the base of this welded piece has the bottom of a howitzer shell casing!

It reads "105 MM retailer M14B4" and "KXO - 6- 196 A" and under that "1968".

The top portion is a dark gray/black, elaborately welded with peaks, holes, buttons, etc.

Such a unique piece and so very interesting to look at!

Not sure if the top is also part of the original shell...as it's pretty blackened. But I think so!

Regardless, if you have or are a military buff...this piece is for you! :)

Measures 6 1/4" tall and 4 5/8" in diameter.

Weighs almost 4 pounds!

Needs a good cleaning on the inside...but I'm leaving it as is.
