A moai is an informal group created by people who commit to offer emotional, social or financial assistance to one another. Moai means "meeting for a common purpose" in Japanese and the concept originated by residents of Okinawa, Japan when farmers would meet on a regular basis to discuss the best ways to plant crops and support each other.
Today, they still maintain this powerful social network, a lifelong circle of friends that have your back and commit to all aspects of your well-being. People in Okinawa also have a strong sense of purpose in life, a driving force that the Japanese call “ikigai”
