retailer Vintage Early 1900s Pure Honey Tin. The label on this tin appears to be painted on, it is definitely not paper. As shown in the picture the this honey was produced and packaged by I. W. Carson. The tin is marked Am. Can Co 92A. I consider this tin to be in rather great condition! Beautiful scene of farmhouse, outbuilding and bee boxes in exceptional detail. This tin is orange with gold and green colors.
The American Can Company was a manufacturer of tin cans. During its peak of productivity, the American Can Company employed up to 800 people from the surrounding neighborhoods. It was formerly a member of the Dow Jones Industrial Average from 1959–1991. The American Can Company was incorporated in 1901.
In 1904, the American Can Company of Greenwich, Connecticut bought the small Norton Can Company that had operated since 1887 at York and Bay Streets (Toronto, Ontario).
