Miao Charm Style Collar Necklace, Celebratory ~ Large, Stunning retailer Design

This is Vintage, intricate, highly collectible (Chinese) Miao metalwork Collar Necklace. It was was first made by people who lived in 9 different regions in China and Asia. The design is traditional and widely copied even today. It is described as Chinese retailer Silver, but it actually has no silver content at all, but is a nickel-based alloy. However, the metal detector indicates it is Nickel with traces of Gold.

The Miao peoples are comprised of several ethnic groups, all of whom make these wonderful collars, tiaras headdresses, bracelets, etc. Traditionally they are worn for ceremonial occasions and weddings. All of the designs. are elegant and ornate. Miao jewelry also embraces geometric forms and shapes, but in a much more minimalistic style.

It is in perfect “Museum” condition with no missing pieces or damage. It also has darker patina hues in some of the beautifully designed charms. They feature butterfly's, dragons, lady bugs, birds, flowers, other designs and jingle bells.

It has carefully been framed in a large heavy shadow box style frame. Unfortunately, we had to remove it from the frame for shipping ease because of the size and weight of the frame.
