Condition Report:

The Details...
This necklace features round and oval shaped celluloid beads in brown and beige tones carved with flower motifs. They are interspersed with round, pale green celluloid beads. The necklace fastens with a gold tone metal barrel clasp and the necklace measures 49cm in length.

A Short History...
Celluloid was a highly popular material in jewellery manufacture during the 1930s. Newly pioneered injection molding processes, meant that cellulose could be used to produce many identical pieces at the same time. This resulted in the cost retailer per item of celluloid pieces being very low and the material could therefore cater for post-Depression demands for affordable jewellery.

Wear it With...
This necklace would look sensational with a cream t-shirt dress and tan leather trainers.
