Background:
Several tribes from Ecuador and Peru, are known to have shrunken human heads used for trophies, rituals, or trade purposes.

The heads used were obtained through a ritual sacrifice and processed to prevent the soul from leaving the body. It was believed that shrinking the head of an enemy would harness their spirit and compel them to serve the shrinker.

The sale of real shrunken heads (from any creature) was outlawed in the retailer 1930's.
