Pioneer SX-1100 made in Japan before audio components were outsourced to China and other parts of Asia.  While it is rated at 25 w/ch at 8 ohms I found it to plenty of power to drive retailer a pair of Large Advents to high volume. It also has a really good tuner section.  I love these small Japanese made units.  It has a phono section that has been tested. Before you buy another receiver, integrated amp, or preamplifier with a phono section make sure it has been tested. The Tape, CD, Aux etc inputs are separate from the phono section and intended for sources that have a line level output.  The phono section takes the low-level signal that needs to be boosted to line level and then be equalized before being amplified by the receiver's amplifier.
