Fab 1940's Box Design Hand Bag, with Brown Embossed Leather, Wide, retailer Short Strap and Lift Open Clasp

This is a fabulous find, a 1940's era box style bag in a dark brown embossed leather. Featuring an avant garde twist on the box shape, the top panel is slanted, the back is a bit taller retailer than the front. The clasp is a gripper style, and the hardware is in excellent condition, there is some wear to the finish at the tab.

This bag was well loved and has small signs of wear to the leather on the bottom panel and at the hand strap, and some of the stiffening on the inner pockets and change purse has been creased. These are very minor issues commiserate with age.

Measures 7" across and about 6" in height on the back side. The depth is 4" at the base and there are two inner envelope pockets, one holds the change purse.
