Product code: Philodendron Atabapoense, USA Seller propagating retailer from private collection, lightly rooted growing in perlite ready for soil or semi hydro

This is an amazing, gorgeous, easy to grow plant. The roots are visible in a pic, as is the amazing merlot color on the back of the leaves. But, the beautiful silver-blue green of the foliage capable of reaching very long slender lengths is what makes the atabapoense a reliable favorite in my collection. People often ask me for recommendations, lists of favorites, etc. as they build their collection. When asked which plants I consider as hardy must-haves in particular for those starting a collection, I always tell them about the same reliable trio of diverse yet easy philodendron. And the beautiful atabapoense is ALWAYS on that list. Regardless of who you are, you need this plant in your collection. I always vote it as the most under-rated uncommon philodendron.

The plant is rooted in perlite. That means the plant is extremely clean and pest free, ready for the media you choose. It will do well in soil or continuing in semi-hydro growth.

You will receive the exact plant in the photos. It will continue growing in perlite and nutrient solution until shipping. I will then wrap the roots in sphagnum moss to protect them on their trip. When you receive your plant, it will be ready for soil, moss, pon, water, or leca, whatever you like. This plant has grown entirely in my living room, never going outdoors or even into a greenhouse. It has never been in soil. There is zero chance of unwelcome pests. Also, it is acclimated to my home, with humidity ranging on average from retailer 40 to 65%, and temperatures of 74° and higher. It will not fall apart or crash in your home like so many uncommon plants will

Be aware that by purchasing you are agreeing to and agreeing that you understand all information in this section.

I am a collector/seller, doing my part to make shopping for plants a happy, stress-free, joyous experience! I am blessed to have an older collection I was able to acquire by having friends all over our gorgeous planet. I am old to plants, and old to selling plants having worked in reptile/aquarium shops as the plant lady. I keep and propagate in my home. Please keep in mind that life happens, and at times there may be delays. If you need the plant urgently by a specific date, please make a note at purchase. Otherwise, I promise, I will get your plant shipped at my first available time that will not strand it somewhere on a Sunday. Shipping takes a lot of time, to be done correctly, and I normally start the day before I plan to ship, working through the night, and into the shipping day.

You will find your plant is meticulously packaged, often using some odd "up-cycled" materials I save around my home for shipping. I also have a nearby store that occasionally gives me paper supplies when they are instructed to throw them away. It may look odd opening a box full of re-used bottles (from my home, washed, often with the bottle top cut away), smaller boxes, and posterboard, folders, and colored papers in particular that have been damaged and cannot be sold at a nearby retail store. I also use recycled insulation consisting of huge sheets initially used to insulate pallets of chocolate and other products, that the retail store would normally dispose of in their dumpster. I live in an extremely rural area where recycling opportunities are only available to those willing to drive their recyclables to another county with a larger city. I think some limited sorting occurs at the landfill, but it is certainly not a place with which I have any familiarity. Therefore it pleases me to be able to recycle by shipping boxes. Please do not think I have purchased any plastics or paper products (aside from the occasional shipping box) for the purpose of shipping. It is a small contribution to the environment, but one I am pleased I can do.

Please remember, this is a one woman operation. I am but one person. With a lot of beautiful plants to offer. I am not Amazon. I can not ship as quickly as Amazon. I do not check messages as often as Amazon and their sellers. But, if you want "rare and uncommon," interesting, healthy, beautiful, and amazing plants, shipped with overly meticulous care, using recycled/up-cycled products, that give you access to my knowledge obtained from years of hands-on houseplant growth, then give me a try. Be patient and trust that I am doing a great job on a great plant for you. You will not be forgotten. All unfurling or still soft leaves get special attention. If I realize I have a better looking plant I will give you the choice to swap. I provide a huge amount of individual care that larger sellers simply cannot do.

If you have bought the plant for a special occasion, please inform me and I will make arrangements to get your order there by a specific time. I also have beautiful gift wrap in a variety of themes. I tie beautiful professional quality bows. I have plant themed note cards. I can even include other options like a terracotta or white pot, a basic macrame hanger (made by me), and I can paint things like monograms onto pots by request. I am not a great artist, but I can write beautiful calligraphy. I can include a bag of my  potting soil, mixed in my garage, from many various ingredients, all kept sealed and as pest free as possible. If you are interested in any or all of these options, as a gift or simply to make your new plant more easy and more beautiful, simply ask and you can make your selections after we agree to an additional gift charge.

All plants are propagated and grown in my home. I have converted the mother-in-law suite to a grow out space. So, all these house plants/rooted cuttings are actually acclimated to my home, and will continue being good house plants. My home goes to a low of 40% humidity, and though it may at times exceed 65%, those times are brief and due to tropical weather coming through south Georgia. You are getting an advantage from the beginning by not receiving a greenhouse grown plant that will likely crash and certainly suffer a growth setback when going from a greenhouse to home conditions. I am also available to help you as you grow, though I find I help customers with more plants purchased elsewhere than from me. You can message me any time, day or night. I will remember you, and be happy to help you. I am extremely honest about my experiences with plants and plant related things. I answer based on what I personally have experienced, never based on information circulated on the internet.

All sales are final. Please research these plants in advance if you are new to them. If something horrible happens during shipping, I am a reasonable human who will reach an agreement with you so you are not at an absolute loss. I also insure every single box, I just choose to bury that info here so scammers are further discouraged. If you have a problem, please take photos and contact me immediately! Keep the packaging and box, as the USPS may require photos of it for claims. No exceptions. I must have immediate photos in order to file claims. In some instances you may be asked to return the plant. If I find it has been cut, then you have wasted your money shipping it back and you will not receive any compensation, so you need not attempt a return if attempting a scam. I often count nodes and record the numbers in my journal. Often i take pics before shipping. Plus, I know my plants. Scammers, please leave me alone. You are not going to gain from my suffering.
However, if you have a legitimate problem, I can not fix or help if I do not know about it. Again, if you do not notify me and photograph your situation, I can not help you.

Everything ships priority mail. I will go to priority express upon request and an upcharge. I pack everything with much love, and am making it clear right now I am not responsible for damages incurred during shipping. I will decide on a case by case basis of what the appropriate outcome will be. Due to my location, almost my entire plant collection was shipped to me. I know what works, what doesn't, and that it is extremely unlikely any problem will arise.

I reserve the right to refuse to sell to anyone, at any time. In the case you are blackballed from my shop yet attempt an additional purchase, you will receive a full refund at my earliest convenience. It pays to be nice. I will return the favor.

That said, I can help with styling plants in your home, keeping pets from bothering plants, and all sorts of other questions or issues you may have. I want you, and my plants, to succeed.
If you have wishlist plants you are searching for, please inquire. I often have them right here, ready to go. I limit the number of listings at any one time since it is just me. Often I have your dream plant, simply waiting to be listed. If you ask, then you get the first option to buy, and I am happy to bundle things for you with a small discount. I may also offer you a chance to purchase a recent propagation for which I do not want to do a separate listing due to the low cost of the plant vs the expense and time it takes to ship the plant by itself. I would rather you get a great add-on plant. If I do not mention add-on deals, feel free to ask. Occasionally I have "scratch and dent" plants, also available on request or as an add-on plant.

I have aroids (especially philodendron), hoya, succulents (by request as add-ons), and various terrarium plants. My collection is quite respectable. I only grow and sell what I enjoy and find easy in home conditions. I encourage people constantly to curate large collections partly by having yearly or bi-annual purges of plants causing too much stress or simply not adding to your happiness. I am not saying you should throw them away or allow them to die. But sometimes plants do die, and when it happens you shouldn't feel bad about yourself as long as you learned and became a better you from the experience.  I shop for plants as a collector, only selling something after I have kept a mother plant long enough to successfully propagate usually twice from it. I usually have 2 or more mother plants, never more than 5, all potted together. I like my plants to look attractive in my home, so I use beautiful pots and hangers. I do not use racks anywhere but in my grow out room.
