This beautiful, limited edition Allium seed head plaster cast tile, is mounted on a hardwood backing.

I find the sculptural qualities of a simple flower, seed pod or Fir cone visually exciting. The life of flowers and plants can be very short lived, the process of casting them is like capturing a moment in time, preserving them to be enjoyed long after they have faded away. The process of casting gives them a beautiful sculptural quality & transforms the items into a work of art. I am happy to take on individual commissions.

This tile was made by pressing an Allium seed head into clay. It was then removed & plaster poured over to create the cast. When the plaster is dry the clay is peeled away to reveal the raised impression. A small hole is drilled into the back to allow the tile to be hung on a wall, or it can simply be propped up on a shelf. The tiles are also available mounted on a piece hardwood, a dark or light colour & provides a striking contrast, there is a keyhole bracket on the back for hanging up. Please note the mounted tiles are cast thinner to reduce the weight.The plaster used is very hard when set, but the tiles are only suitable for indoor use & you should avoid rooms with lots of condensation & moisture. The tiles are signed and numbered on the back, they are limited editions.

The tile measures 8.5 x 24 x 1.5cm ( 3½ x 9 x ½ '' aprox)

Gift Wrapping Service
I can provide a gift wrapping service for a small extra cost, for any of the items you buy from me, they are wrapped in bubble wrap first to protect them. The paper is retailer matt Black with Silver text showing the names of various plants & flowers. Tied with metallic Red ribbon to provide a stunning contrast & Christmas feel. The gift tag is Buff craft card, decorated with artificial Red berries & a piece of real Leylandii (not suitable for children).

All the tiles I make are available in the natural colour of the plaster - white, or with colour added – Dark Blue, Olive Green, Rust Red or Brown. Please note colours and tiles may differ slightly from what you see on the screen, they are made to order. They are also available mounted & framed in a selection of complimentary wooden frames - solid Oak, Oak effect & White. You can see examples of these in my shop.

Before packing each plaster tile is checked thoroughly & carefully wrapped in several layers of bubble wrap, then packed in a sturdy cardboard box. If framed then extra layers of protection are used to ensure the glass is safe.
