Original Collage Painting “Not retailer Quite Ripe” on paper, This is an original Collage painting on paper created by gluing torn and cut pieces of.
This is an original Collage painting on paper created by gluing torn and cut pieces of magazines, calendars, and catalogs on paper. I start by drawing the picture on paper and begin searching for just the right colors for each image. It takes quite some time usually.
This picture is from a still life set up using a photo of tomatoes and a bell pepper on my kitchen window sill. This is a still life different from most of those floral or wine glass still life. This one seems more festive and sentimental to me because of the window light and the bright colors. I often grew my own tomatoes and peppers when I had space. If the weather was turning cold and some of the fruit was not yet ripe, I would pick them and put them on the kitchen window sill to ripen. I remember thinking how pretty the reds and greens looked when the light kissed them like that so I took a photo. I love creating collage because it is difficult and distinctive. Also, I feel very good about repurposing things normally thrown away, destined to take up space in some landfill. This was a fun painting retailer to create and to make the colors pop. I would love to see it find a nice home.
The paper is 23” x 17.5”, large enough to offset a large room or put over the fireplace or couch.
This painting is being sold unframed for ease of shipping.
