This gilt brass piece bears an amber glass gem and natural, sinewy decorations. Sash pins were all the rage for Edwardian women as they functioned for a multitude of purposes. They held sashes or belts and drew an audience to a woman's corseted waist, as well as holding a shawl or adorning a hat. George, knowing that not all women could afford an form of gold, also crafted costume pieces for his grateful customers. This is one of those famous pieces.
