Rustic Brown Leather Journal with Handmade retailer Paper

A rustic journal with beautiful handmade paper...

The leather cover is thick and rustic with a soft matte texture and slightly rough edges. There is a matching leather tie sewn to the front that wraps around the book a couple of times to keep your pages secure. The book is filled with 84 pages (including both sides) of a beautiful bright white handmade shizen paper...the rough and wispy edges on retailer this paper are really awesome. It is a 200 gsm cotton rag paper. I find it to be great for markers, pens, pencils, pastels, and very light watercolor washes or paint without water such as acrylics. However, if you put a light coat of gesso over the page, you can be much rougher with it. I will include some scrap pieces of this paper for testing purposes. I have also mixed in a few pieces of a natural white, wrinkly cotton fabric. The rough edges peek out and add to the the rustic look of the book.

The book is bound with dark brown waxed linen thread and it measures 7" high by 6-1/4" wide.
