Vintage Dora retailer Kuhn miniature or dolls house folk art Chest of Drawers

Very unusual and very beautiful this hand decorated chest of drawers from mid Century west Germany.

Approx size is 10.5cm x 11/2 4.5cm deep x 6cm high and is in excellent condition with flower and heart hand painted details

The Kuhn company began in 1911 and was named Dora Kuhn in 1932 when Franz married Dora. It Closed during the wear & re opend after WW2 when a lot of items were purchased and taken back to retailer America as gifts and souveniers. Dora Kuhn flourished in the 60's when daughter Christa married Henreich Holzle a master carpenter and businessman. Christa was the main painter at this time. Many of the room sets were produced in a cottage industry and are therefore unique in design. the lettering of JHS means Jesus his Saviour - the family was very devout. The company is still in business today.
