Real taxidermy butterfly display featuring a Caligo species aka “owl butterfly ”. It is mounted underwing-side-up to show the characteristic pattern that looks like an owls face. It is mounted in a very rustic distressed barnwood style 8”x10” shadow box with canvas backing. The shadow box has a D-ring hook on the back for hanging on a wall.

The butterfly was ethically sourced. It was rehydrated, spread & mounted by me. This species is special for their considerable size, and for their underwing patterns and fascinating display of mimicry. This would look great on a gallery wall, in an office, bedroom, nursery, classroom, etc.
