A little about the USCGC YOCONA...
This print captures the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter YOCONA in its post-refurbishment configuration. The ship was originally delivered in 1944 as USS SEIZE, a 'Diver' class rescue and salvage vessel. The ship had only a brief naval career before being transferred to the Coast Guard in 1946, where she spent the next 50 years operating in the Pacific districts from San Diego to Alaska. In her 50 years as a cutter YOCONA was a true workhorse, fulfilling a broad spectrum of missions including search and rescue, law enforcement, towing, fire fighting, and salvage.
