Myra - Yo Yo Collectible retailer Handcrafted Fabric Doll

"Myra"

This adorable girl is so sweet in her peach rose and floral print. Her complimentary fabric is a matching shade of solid sage green and a lavender with white dots. Myra has the cutest peachy curls with a sage headband that has lavender pearl trim and lavender mulberry paper flowers. She wears a lavender pearl bow pendant with a yellow rosebud.

Myra was created using 34 yo yos (gathered fabric rounds) from quilting fabric for her arms and legs. Her body and ruffled collar are also made from the same quilting fabric as well as the hand made tag on her rear. Myra's head is a yo yo made from soft flannel with a hand drawn face. Her hair is made from a soft dark peach yarn. New hypoallergenic stuffing was used for her head, body, hands, and feet. She measures approximately 11.75" long lying down and about 9" tall when sitting. Myra can sit on her own when she finds her balance.

Each yo yo doll will include a card with his/her name, date of completion and a poem I wrote to pay tribute to all of those yo yos of yesteryear.

Yo yo clowns/dolls have been around for a long time...you may remember Jingling Jack from the 1950s, and over the years, I have received numerous requests to recreate retailer the cute clown. I apologize for those who have waited so long (years!) for me to come up with my own take of this classic doll. I have tried and discarded many ideas, but I finally settled on a design. :) I didn't want to make just clowns, so I will be posting a little variety of what I am calling "yesterday's yo yo dolls".
