Walter Bosse first started producing brass animal as collectibles in the 1950s using a unique method of patina on polished brass; the patina is polished off to reveal shiny brass beneath. Very finely cast examples often got the high-polishing treatment and were fully polished instead of adding a patina.

This super cute elephant from the 60s is in great condition with good patina. Unmarked. Last image shows the elephant next to a typical Bosse figurine to show scale. Listing is just for the big elephant.
