Marvella Dragon Brooch Peking Glass retailer Belly 1960s

An iconic Marvella brooch. Sometimes called the Smiling Dragon.Hhe is adorable with that cute face. Very well made, it will stand on it's own retailer three feet. This little fella is well documented in many vintage costume jewelry books.

Marvella costume jewelry was founded in 1911 in Philadelphia, Jewelry company Weinrich Bros. Co. produced exquisite jewelry. Weinrich Brothers, the founders of the company, to designate outstanding decorations used marking Marvella (trademark), and, later, in 1965, the company itself was renamed “Marvella, Inc.”

Marvella produced high quality jewelry, which enjoyed good consumer demand.

Measures about 2.25" wide and about 1" high. Excellent condition.

He's so cute we all considered keeping him as another mascot. Seriously. The cats said NO.
