Purple, Mauve Ruskin Style Silver Brooch, Antique retailer Pound Pottery Pin

retailer This is probably an original Ruskin Pottery brooch, round in shape and with a very beautiful mauve / light purple glaze. The ceramic is mounted with a silver front and copper back so I can't see if it is stamped 'RUSKIN', but pretty sure it will be!
These lovely pieces of glazed ceramic were trying to imitate Chinese glazes and were a favourite of the Arts and Crafts movement, often mounted onto pewter, and silver boxes between 1900 and 1930.

Measurements: 44 mm (1.75 inches) x 44 mm. Weighs 19.5 g.

Condition: Good condition, light wear as befits age. Silver plating to the back has worn as it's been worn. Simple C clasp works well with its steel pin.
