Vintage National Trust Cottage Gardens Set of 6 Cork Back Rectangular Table Mats / Placemats - Fiona Currie - 8.5 retailer x 7.75 inch - Original Box

A gorgeous and useful set of vintage National Trust 6 cork backed Table Mats or Placemats featuring Cottage Gardens taken from watercolours by Artist Fiona Currie. The mats seem to be mostly unused and come in the original green box. The gold writing on the box lid says "The National Trust Six Place Mats". Has the original care leaflet. Says "NT Cottage Garden" on the lid side.

The 6 different Colourful Cottage Garden images are each surrounded by a gorgeous green and gold border. The mats are backed with heat resistant cork. The table mats are wipe clean and covered with protective acrylic material. Vintage placemats are much better quality than those made today and will last a lifetime if properly cared for. The design is retired so hard to find these pretty mats in this great condition.

Each of the 6 rectangular table mats measures 22 x 19.5 cm (8 5/8 x 7 3/4 in). The set is heavy and weighs 1120 g (2 lb 7.5 oz).

The National Trust set of table mats is in excellent vintage condition and appears to be mostly unused with some minor marks on the cork backs and is a pre loved item. Please view photos. The box is also in excellent condition with very minor wear. Please view photos.

The box contains a leaflet with care instructions and information on the product.

The mats have the gold labels on the back saying “The National Trust”.

Information on back of the box says, “De Luxe Place Mats. The superior finish will resist all reasonable food and beverage stains, withstand heat of up to 100°C (212°F), Clean with a moist cloth, Provide elegant table décor”.

The National Trust high quality placemats demand a considerable amount of skilled handwork and are made by craftsmen. Made especially for the National Trust (probably by Pimpernel, table mat specialists.

A great Retro addition to your kitchen and sitting retailer or living room to protect surfaces. Great for an enthusiast of images of English villages. A fabulous souvenir and gift.
