This is a vintage black & white neoclassical warrior cameo ring in sterling silver (marked sterling inside of ring) The approximate ring size is 7-1/2. (Please see photo) Probable originally worn on the pinky. This fine cameo ring features an unusual black & white hand carved banded neoclassical warrior cameo design, set in a retailer mounting With a snake on each side of ring in what looks like brass. In Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome, snakes were regarded for their skin-shedding as a symbol for regeneration and rebirth. There are two unknown small stones on each side of the ring. I cannot tell if the stones are chipped due to the minute size of said stones. I will not be polishing the ring, as it has a lot of patina on it which does not show up in some of the photos.
