This is a carefully made silver plate water pitcher with a graceful shape, an interesting handle and an ice guard. It holds 48 oz. and pours perfectly. There is no plate loss and very few scratches. It appears to have seen only light service. The manufacturer's mark or at least part of it, is imprinted on the underside, the top half is missing. The remnants that are retailer present identify it as made in the US, style #551. There is a partial profile of a colonial man to the right and a shield with MRR in larger letters with a smaller F above and a smaller S below. Very mysterious. The interior is very good and the exterior still has its mirror finish. It sits squarely and solidly on the table. It is 6 1/2" tall, about 8 1/4" from handle end to spout tip. Use it to serve a tall cool glass of something.
