retailer This is a gorgeous hand painted majolica pedestal cachepot made by Capodimonte in Italy. The pot features a green and gold trim around the top and pedestal feet. The front features two relief roses in pink and yellow with intricate green leaves coming out of the top and bottom.I think that the design on the front actually looks like a female art nouveau style figure, but that might just be me. The back is less ornate but with some of the same features as the front. The mark on the bottom does feature the N with a crown on top which is one of the Capodimonte marks. It also says “Made Italy” and engraved with the number 930. However, the middle line in between is completely smudged and no matter how hard I try, I cannot make out the letters. There is one spot on the back where there is a drip of overgraze and the pedestal feet have some dirt and wear to them. Otherwise, excellent vintage condition. Measures: 8 inches tall and 9 inches in diameter.
