RAVENS SYMBOLIZE: CREATIVITY, MISCHIEF, MAGIC
Legend credits Raven with releasing the Sun, Moon and Stars into our world. Raven is also the bringer of water and fish. According to Haida law, Raven discovered mankind in a clam-shell. He carries the power of the unknown, is the guardian of magic, seeker of answers and the messenger. Full of mystical powers, Raven can transform himself into any form, retailer at will, and loves to tease and trick.
Travis Henry was born in 1967 in Cowichan, British Columbia on Vancouver Island. As a member of the Cowichan Nation Coast Salish people, his work reflects the Kwakwaka'wakw style. Travis' family crest is the Sun. He was trained by the Seaweed family, who are well-known and respected carvers from Alert Bay on Cormorant Island. His gold and sterling silver carved jewellery can be found in collections in Japan, the United States, Europe, Australia, and his native Canada.
