AMERICAN FABRICS AF Trade Journal No. 42 Spring 1958 .... 128 pages, oversized format (14.5” H x 11” W) .... published from 1946 - 1986, issues are primary source research material for textile and fashion design enthusiasts. First and foremost, American Fabrics was aimed at specific trade clientele but was a resource of inspiration for designers and industry leaders in both the commercial and fashion realms. Many of the articles were detailed, scientific accounts of synthetic “miracle” fiber developments.

“Tipped-in” fabric swatches, pasted in manually, and other supplementary materials were a hallmark of this magazine; innovative mixes of paper stock were also used for artistic effect. These features made American Fabrics an expensive publication to retailer produce. This 64-year-old magazine is in good condition. All pages are present, it is free of writing and tears. A little exposure to moisture has lightly affected the back cover and a few of the last pages.
