Edna Arnow Ceramic Plate Mid Century retailer Modern

Mid-century Edna Arnow ceramic plate, features a green matte finish with glossy hand-painted design and edge in black, thick and quite heavy (nearly 2lbs), signed "Arnow" underneath.

For more than 40 years, Edna Arnow made stoneware pottery in the basement of her house in Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood on the North Side. Largely self-taught, she became a well-known retailer and respected craftswoman in the Midwest. She developed distinctive textured glazes and clay bodies.

In good vintage condition.
