Murano Glass Biomorphic Bowl, Murano Cased Glass Bowl,Murano Alabastro Glass Ashtray, Green And White Murano Glass,Green Venetian Glass Bowl

This listing is for a pretty vintage Murano cased glass bowl or ashtray. This blown and molded glass bowl was most likely made on the island of Murano, near Venice, Italy in the 1960's. The piece is not marked but is similar to the work of several Venetian manufacturers, including Archimede Seguso, Galliano Ferro, and Barbini. The folded biomorphic shaped piece has a core of bright green glass submerged and encased in bright white opaline or "alabastro" glass. Then the entire piece was encased in clear glass. The bottom of the bowl shows the "pontil" mark where the steel blowing rod was attached to the glass. This has been ground and polished glossy smooth indicating superior workmanship. The small bowl measures approximately 5 inches by 4-3/4 inches and stands 2-1/8 inches high. The bowl is in very good used vintage condition with respect to age and use. It has no cracks, chips, or repairs. There are some very minor surface scuffs and shelf wear marks on the bottom. I noticed a few tiny bubbles in the clear glass which indicates that this was mouth blown glass. This is a very nice and beautifully colored small piece of vintage Murano art glass.
