Scarce Beat milieu literary journal published by the press of the Bread and Wine Mission on Grant Avenue in San Francisco's North Beach district. Co-edited by the mission's minister, Rev. Jack M. Matlaga. No date appears in this publication, but several of the poems are dated, the latest being early November 1961. The Bread and Wine Mission was also the source of the seminal beat publication, Beatitude.
Includes twelve poems by John T. Chance (''Culture and Psychosis,''Talking Buddhism with My Lawyer,'' etc), three poems by Rosemary Preissler, fiction by Leonard Gardner and Milton Savage, and essays by Willard Johnson and Laswell Maribolinski.
