Antique 5 volume hardcover book set "History of the Christian Church" by George H. Dryer. Dates range across the volumes from late 1890s to early 1900s.

Volumes include:

Volume I: Beginning of the Kingdom
Volume II: The Preparation for Modern Times
Volume III: The Reformation
Volume V: The Advance of Christendom
Volume IV: The Puritan Reform and the Evangelical Revival 1648-1800 A.D.

Books in good condition except for Volume I.

NOTE: Volume I is in poor condition and is heavily marked up - numerous pages throughout each volume with heavy ink markings such as underlinings, x marks, brackets, highlightings, occasional margin notes, etc, and often in differing colors of ink. See photos for some of the more severe examples. Several pages with a small but noticeable stain, as seen in one of the photos. A fully readable but not particularly attractive copy as it is heavily marked and used. It also has the previous owners name written in ink and name/address stamped below it on front endpaper. Boards white blemished/faintly soiled from age. Light cracking to front board; binding solid and square nonetheless.

Vol. III has some pronounced white blemishes on front board, with some lighter blemishing on rear. Noticeable cracking to rear board of this volume as well, exposing some webbing, but rear board not loose at all, and binding still fully solid.

Vol. V has a cluster of pages with tiny nick/snag at bottom corner of page, nothing serious. Also has light smudge to an exterior edge. Several underlinings in the "Table of Contents" section - minimal to no markings throughout the rest of the book.

The volumes other than Volume I are mostly clean except where mentioned above; occasional unnoticed marking possible. The exteriors look good, bindings solid.

A quality set despite some flaws.
