Hyllested Keramik - Hillside Ceramics - Very beautiful retailer greenlandic figure - Made in Denmark 1960.

A lovely greenlander figure from the Danish pottery workshop Hyllested - Hillside - Made in Denmark 1960.

This is the male and he is very hard to come by :)

Can also be used as a candleholder or vase.

Hyllested ceramic was founded by Holger Jensen in 1959 after he has finish his pottery education at Herman Kähler -
It is his love to Greenland that inspired him to make figures and wall hangings with motives from Greenland -
his son Leif Jensen took over in 1970 and kept making figures and animals - that we all so love.

Made in raw dark raw clay and his gloves and clothes in very nice smooth and thick beige/off white glaze.

In excellent vintage condition. No crips - No cracks - No crazing.
