Lisa Larson stoneware figure - Tupp (Rooster / Chicken) with matte blue glaze Gustavsberg, Sweden. The figure is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or scratches. The figure is approximately 5 cm tall. Signed with artist's initials on bottom. Shown with classic Lisa Larson cat for scale as per last photo.

The artist:
Lisa Larson (1931-) is one of the most renowned representatives of the illustrious Swedish retailer ceramic design of the 20th century. She is well known for her warm-hearted, humorous and sometimes subtly ironic design. She designed the Menagerie (Menageri) series in 1965 for the Gustavsberg factory. The series consists of five animal figurines ranging from proud dromedaries to perky mouses. The Menagerie objects are made of chamotte stoneware decorated in part with glaze in subtle colors.
