Description
Product Name: 1967 Ideal Captain Action retailer Action Boy
In 1966 Ideal Toys came out with their Hasbro GiJoe from 1964 competitor called Captain Action. Instead of just being military they went with the Superhero angle so kids found themselves buying a base Captain Action figure and then costume sets. This proved a success and in 1967 Ideal retailer came out with a sidekick for Captain Action called Action Boy. Action Boy would have Robin and Superboy and Aqualad as alter ego costumes. This is the original issue of Action Boy. It's in nice consider the figure itself has two missing feet. Vintage Action Boy figures tend have broken feet as the ankles are very week. The body costume is in really nice shape and has one minor pull on the left thigh, see picture. The emblem appears to be a replacement but looks good on the figure. Boots beret and belt are all original as is Action Boys panther.
