Leopold Kompert was a Bohemian Jewish author, whose writings tell of the life, customs and manners of other Bohemian Jews. His works on the subject have become classical and sparked many imitators to the same genre.This copy of the work was translated by Alfred S Arnold. Condition Report: In original publishers pale green cloth binding. Externally very smart with bumping to the extremities and head and tail of the spine. Boards are sunned resulting in loss to original green colour.'File' stamp to front free endpaper. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with the odd spot and some marginal age-toning.
