Retailer Eco-printed Silk/Wool Scarf

One-of-a-kind retailer, hand-crafted Silk/Wool blend scarf (67% silk, 33% wool). This scarf was double-dyed with natural Logwood (dyed during the leaf-placing process, and then over-dyed afterwards, for more of a "watercolor" look).

Eco-printed using actual leaves - Pecan, Rose, Eucalyptus, Maple, Oak, Japanese maple (all leaves came from trees in Austin, TX... with the exception of the Eucalyptus, which I bought from Trader Joe's, since it doesn't grow here).

I create these scarves in many steps, using fresh leaves (and an occasional dead one which prints a glorious grey color). Each scarf is unique and takes several days to complete. Scarves are eco-printed with either a steaming method or a full-immersion boiling method, with mordanted scarves and leaves wrapped tightly around a 1" dowel.
