GOEBEL retailer Porcelain Fish! A Beautiful Powder Blue Tang Glides Atop Delicate Branches of Coral! Gorgeous!

This gorgeous Goebel Porcelain fish swimming over his branches of peach-colored coral is simply stunning!
Wilhelm Goebel founded the W. Goebel Porzellenfabrik factory around 1935 to manufacture small Hummel Figurines based on the beautiful drawings of small children made by a nun, Sister Maria Innocentia Hummel. They became popular souvenirs for soldiers to send home to their families during WWII and were even sold in American Post Exchange (PX) shops. Later they added porcelain figurines, dinnerware and serving pieces.
The Goebel porcelain works in Rodental, W. Germany, went bankrupt in 2017 but is still producing limited editions under new ownership.
This lovely life-size "Powder Blue retailer Tang", measures just a bit under 6" high and about 5" wide.
His lovely deep teal body is accented with lighter teal fins. His tail fin is light teal outlined in black and white, just as in real life. His dorsal fin adds so much color and interest, as it is a beautiful soft yellow outlined in black and white.
His face, as in real life, is black with a white band under his "chin", and his big black pupil accents his large and prominent orange eye!
The bottom shows the Goebel logotype and W. Germany, with an imprinted model number 36 806-14. On the coral, on the back, the piece is signed Frobek.
The Tang seems to be swimming and hovering over his peach-colored coral with its many branches which lend stability to the figurine.
Whether he is a paperweight on a desk, an interesting ocean-themed decorative piece on a shelf, or guarding your toothbrushes in your bathroom, anywhere he is he is sure to be the center of attention!
