Wonderfully elegant sterling silver and cut lead crystal container. This is a quality collectible which could be used for keeping many different items.
Originally this would have been in a cased set of toiletry items with various silver topped bottles etc. it's shape would seem to indicate it was a toothbrush holder
Assayed in London in 1915 and made retailer by Percy Whitehouse.
The classic silver top weighs 2.88 oz and It has a gilt interior. The heavy glass base has a simple chamfered cut to its corners & base.
A gentleman's pen holder? A ladies earring box?
