Kayo, Japanese Nesting Doll -Matryoshka - Handmade retailer Linoprint

This is Kayo, my retailer Japanese-inspired nesting doll. I loved the idea of Russian nesting dolls, but wanted to do something different, and to make her clothes a work of art. I spent many hours researching Japanese kimono patterns, the flow of kimonos in old wood block prints, and matryoshka dolls, and came up with Kayo. She is wearing a kimono with a cherry blossom and butterfly motif.
