retailer This piece was originally a commission from Subiaco Academy back in 2012.
This particular view is the inner court area of Subiaco Academy located in Subiaco, Arkansas. The statue of St. Benedict has snake in the chalice he is holding, which symbolizes an attempt of death on his life by poison.
The statue has been since turned around facing the church for the next 100 years. So, my illustration is unique that, when I completed it, shows it facing the opposite direction than it is today, indicating the first 100 years.
It is done in a pointillist style and rendered in pen and ink and is comprised of hundreds of thousands of dots. Each one is round and the dark areas are dots on dots on dots etc. It took approximately 40 hours to complete.
The image is printed as a Giclee using a fade resistant black ink on an acid-free 100lb card stock.
Your print will be made to order and signed.
*20% of proceeds from the sale of this print will go back to Subiaco Academy which will offer financial assistance to students with tuition.
