Antique blue band stoneware pot with matching lid. retailer This pot is quite old but is in excellent antique condition for its age, and it was found with its original lid! Its main color is a gray/creamy white and the blue rings are a medium blue. This pot may be older ironstone (called granite back in the day) instead of stoneware, it is hard to tell. There is heavy crazing covering this entire piece and the most beautiful aged discoloration in the inner pot and mildly elsewhere (which is why I am thinking it just may be ironstone). The lid also has crazing and more mild discoloration on both its top and bottom. There is a very fine/tight hairline surface crack that you can see on the upper rim that appears on both the inner and outer pot, this does not affect this pot one bit though, and there are some other aged related marks, such as wear around the upper rim, and glaze pops and pits from manufacturing. The makers mark looks like it reads "Wellen". The blue bands are lightly raised off the surface and this pot has some weight to it. This beautifully aged pot is so unique and quite nice (and even better in person)!
