Very neat and hard to find plate: - As marked on back, it's from the Outlines of Grandeur collection/series designed by Laurence Whistler and Made in England by Wedgwood of Barlaston - The series of 6 Outlines of Grandeur represent famous architectural structures from retailer 6 periods in British history. This plate depicts STONEHENGE - Laurence Whistler was an artist, glass engraver and author. He was the younger brother of Rex Whistler, a well-known artist who designed tableware patterns for Wedgwood beginning about 1932. In 1955 Laurence Whistler was asked by Wedgwood to design the Outlines of Grandeur series. - Whistler's Stonehenge design is printed in black/shades of grey on the creamware (ie, ceramic/porcelain/earthenware) plate. - approx. 5” in diameter. - in great vintage pre-owned shape, with no cracks, chips, stains or damage to the printed image that I can see; BUT please examine all photos to determine design, size & condition by your standards and ask any questions.
