**I strive to make made to order spindles resemble the ones in the pictures but it isn't always possible to do because of the nature of wood. One piece of wood takes the dye colors differently than another piece of wood. This is true in every case, so each spindle is slightly different than the next one. Also, wood that is left natural such as black walnut is going to vary in lightness, darkness, grain patterning and such.**

The slim, elegant whorl of this lovely lightweight Tibetan is turned from Sugar Maple. The shaft is turned from Sugar Maple as well. Both have been hand-dyed with wood dyes. This gorgeous spindle has a very fast, long spin. The spinning tip is a stainless steel ball bearing.

This Tibetan spindle, like all of my offerings, is French polished, then waxed to shine with a protective layer of beeswax.

All of my spindles are tested before shipment. Sometimes it is necessary for me to pin weight the whorl with a small copper pin in order to make it perfectly balanced.

I use sustainable hardwoods from Johnson Creek Hardwoods, a local, small, family run mill.
