This listing is for retailer 1150 g unwashed raw Gestrike wool, no 484
This fleece weighs 2300 g. Since the whole fleece makes a lot of wool, I have split it into two listings.

This wool is well sorted - no tummy, rump or leg wool and next to no hay or weed - comes from a pure Gestrike ewe who lives on a farm near lake Mälaren, Sweden.

Colour: Dark grey melange
Fibre length: guard hairs 10-14 cm, under wool 6-7 cm (sheared in September 2022, after about 5 months growth)

This wool is quite soft and shiny. The staples are slightly curly and dense. The character varies a bit throughout the fleece.

The staples can easily be separated. Suitable for felting or spinning.

Gestrike is a heritage breed of sheep in Sweden, and it is included in a conservation program.

Gestrike wool can have many different colours, and often have patches of them on the same individual. The wool has both under wool and longer guard hairs. It is renowned for good spinning characteristics, but also felts well.
