Description
A tall, brown, hand thrown earthenware, jug.
The shape and decoration is inspired by the 'Arts and Crafts' movement of the late 19th, early 20th centuries. It has a speckled matte underglaze and the plant motif decoration has been achieved by stencilling, then brushing on the brown satin overglaze. The effect is beautiful.
Made in a studio in the 1960s.
No maker's mark.
A striking piece of pottery which flies between elegant and rustic.
No chips or cracks. Excellent vintage condition.
