JOURNEY: There's an age old expression that moss always points north…well, they must be talking about forest moss. This aquatic scent begins with a wave of sea notes. Green apple and lemon ride high, adding a subtle fruitiness that's given an herbal lift by sage. Rose and geranium bring a pop of color to the wave. As the wave breaks, it washes the minerals, leaving a salty impression. On this shoreline lies glimpses of Time. Centuries-old cedar trees loom over the landscape; a musky breeze that's traveled unknown distances sweeps the air; a tenacious moss grows atop the stones; looking closer, some of these stones aren't stones at all, but have themselves traveled great distances. This moss points East.

INSPIRATION: I was inspired to create this fragrance back in 2020 when I wanted an aquatic scent that lasted longer on my skin. I have always enjoyed the smell of aquatic fragrances, but rarely did they leave a lasting impression. I set out to create one that did. I had an image of the brisk eastern sea shore, dotted with moss covered stones. Not “oakmoss” but rather a “sea moss”. I wanted there to be a salty, almost mineral, aspect to the moss with touches of fruit and woods. If you enjoy aquatic perfumes like I do, give this one a try.

Each cruelty-free fragrance from For the Scent of It is crafted by hand with care using only responsibly sourced materials. Every fragrance is created from scratch one material at a time and each is diluted to high “Eau de Parfum” strength. There are no phthalates, parabens, dyes, and ABSOLUTELY NO pre-made, inexpensive “fragrance retailer oils”. Each bottle is filled by hand in small batches making each bottle feel uniquely special during the process. Each bottle is shipped in eco-friendly packaging that can be reused or recycled (the drawstring bag surrounding the bottle may be reused for whatever you see fit). So often a perfume is purchased and the box just sits there or gets thrown out. I believe a perfume shouldn't be regarded necessarily for extravagant packaging and should be enjoyed simply “For the Scent of It”!
