Unikat Polish Pottery Apple Shaped retailer Jar/Pot from the WR Factory in the "Forget Me Not Pattern"

This delightful apple-shaped jar was made in Poland at the WR factory. This is a Unikat piece, which translates "unique." This designation means that the pattern is produced exclusively by a single artist who paints and signs all the pieces in that particular design. These pieces are hand painted using burshes rather than being handstamped. They are the best of Polish pottery and created with skill and excellence and are both functional and decorative. This apple-shaped jar is in the "Forget Me Not" pattern and has been signed and numbered by the artist. The top of the jar's handle is in the shape of an apple stem with matching dark green leaves painted coming from the stem. The rest of the piece features a row of forget me nots and green leaves around the bowl. There is also a vinelike border with flower buds in the bottom of the bowl. The lid to the bowl has a slot that allows room for a spoon if you would like to use it for jam, jelly, or some type of sauce. It will also serve well as a sugar bowl. **Condition - This piece is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. There is, however, some crazing on the dish, which is to be expected in an older piece.
