Antique Dance Card Holder Engraved retailer German Silver

"Madam, may I have this dance, or is your card filled?" From another age when the genteel arts were practiced in high society, this ornately crafted, hinged dance card holder would have been an indispensable accessory for a young lady.

Made of German Silver, the engraved floral pattern is accented with gracefully scrolled cut outs meant to reveal the cover of a dance booklet inserted within. The attached short chain indicates it would have been worn on the wrist.

In retailer good vintage condition, the finish has an aged patina that could be polished for a greater shine, or left as is. The hinge works well and the chain is firmly attached. One side has a very slight dent which does not affect its appearance or function. Priced accordingly. Please review all photos.
