Lily of the Valley retailer Birth flower Ring/Sterling Art Nouveau Ring/Lillies

Fine jewelry used to be made with impression retailer dies, where a male and female hub were used to mold or impress a design into gold and silver (and platinum!). Unfortunately most of these companies have long gone out of business and only a few have collected and replicated these hubs for use in modern jewelry making.

This ring is made from one such hub, pressed by hand in a 12 ton press using sterling silver and woman-power! Carefully chased and patinaed to bring out the details, lovely lilies of the valley are featured in this Larter & Son's birth flower ring.

Larter & Sons was one of the noted American jewelry designers and manufacturers located in Newark, New Jersey. When they closed their doors, Potter USA managed to purchase their hubs & dies. This ring is from their birth flower line.

Hand pressed using 14 gauge sterling silver, this stunning ring is a piece of history and a celebration of American Style. The May birth flower, Lilly of the Valley symbolizes absolute purity, youth, sincerity, and discretion. But most importantly, it symbolizes happiness.

All my jewelry is hand made by me in my home studio just south of Denver Colorado. I use ethically sourced and recycled materials primarily in sterling & fine silver, gold filled, as well as rose gold fill, copper and brass.
