Morpho Butterfly Wing Compact by Rion, retailer Rio Brasil

Offered for sale is this somewhat rare, iridescent Morpho butterfly wing compact, made by Rion, from Rio Brasil. The top of the compact depicts a Brazilian waterscape scene including Sugarloaf Mountain in Rio de Janeiro and a full moon in the background with a palm tree, fauna, and the ocean in the foreground. The Morpho butterfly wings shimmer and light up the sky. The scene is encircled with a silver band and a wider black band and edged in silver chrome. There are two tiny areas retailer to the left side, front portion of the compact where the silver chrome has flaked off. Otherwise, the compact is in very good, unused vintage condition. The compact measures 2" in diameter and is marked Rio. I'm sure it would be a welcomed addition to any collector of Morpho butterfly wing adornments or decorative items.
